General MacArthur's role was leader of the United Nations forces during the start of the Korean War, however he was removed from command after clashing with President Truman over War policy.

MacArthur´s role in the Korean War was the one of a hero.  He was the hero of the Worl War II. His played the role of the commander of United Nations forcess fighting in the Korean war. He led the Allied forces in the Southwest Pacific during that war, and after it , MacArthur was in charge of the occupation of Japan. When North Korea invaded South Korea in June 1950, kicking of the Korean War, he was designated commander of the United Nations forces in defense of South Korea
