It should be the last one, because it is correct with the situation in India after India gained its independence from their British rulers. The constitution of India abolishes the caste system but the conservative forces still maintain the system, and the different classes obey it out of religious and societal reasons. Yes, the different classes, thereotically are equal, according to the constitution, but they still do not mingle, because the caste system is still there.
