The independence and liberty you possess are the work of joint counsels, and joint efforts of common dangers, sufferings, and successes." Washington would call on all citizens and politicians, rgardless of their political party or what part of the country they come from, to work toward common cause with one another, for the good of the country. He would not be a fan of all the bickering with one another because each political faction or group thinks it and it alone has the right ideas for the country.
