The Mormon pioneers were known as very hard working and industrious people. They were very well organized and had great faith that God was on their side and therefore they could succeed. From their struggles, they learned to work together to survive. Immediately after they arrived, they plotted out a city and began digging irrigation lines from mountain streams to the valleys below. Crops were planted before homes were built.

People were organized into companies to settle various areas which would produce different items based on the climate - those sent to southern Utah grew cotton and raised silkworms; Northern Utah was ideal for dairy farming; Central Utah had areas for mining and timber. They worked together to build homes, often many families would share a small cabin until more could be built. Because timber was hard to find and nails were extremely rare, they made do with what they had, making adobe homes and lashing wood frames together with hides.

Rather than become dependent on expensive shipments from the East, they made their own materials (including yarn and fabric!) and sold the excess to those traveling further west to California and Oregon. It took a lot of faith and hard work, but the Mormon pioneers turned what was practically a barren wasteland into a thriving and prosperous place.

HURRY HURRY 100 PTS HURRRYYYY 05.03 Which act of Congress set the line of latitude at 36 degrees 30 minutes north, as the northe
Rama09 [41]

The Missouri Compromise is the act of Congress set the line of latitude at 36 degrees 30 minutes north, as the northernmost limit for slavery. Hence, option B is correct.

What is the Missouri compromise?

Slavery was outlawed in the remaining Louisiana Purchase areas north of the 36o 30' parallel after the U.S. Congress approved a statute in 1820 that accepted Maine as a free state and made Missouri a slave state while maintaining slavery in Missouri as a slave state.

The controversy around slavery gave rise to the Missouri Compromise. A bill that made Missouri a slave state in the Union had been passed.

Before the Kansa-Nebraska Act of 1854 overturned it, this agreement had been in existence for more than 30 years. In 1857, the compromise was declared to be unconstitutional.

Thus, option B is correct.

Why are islands so important when it comes to imperialism?
Nookie1986 [14]

The word “imperialism” is widely used as an emotive—and more rarely as a theoretical—term to denote specific forms of aggressive behavior on the part of certain states against others; the concept refers primarily to attempts to establish or retain formal sovereignty over subordinate political societies, but it is also often equated with the exercise of any form of political control or influence by one political community over another.

hope this helps :)
