This statement is an example of other-reference, because the speaker addresses another person (you), thus, focusing on the listener.
It can´t be an example of self-reference because the speaker doesn´t refer to himself and it can´t be a relational reference either because the speaker doesn´t try to involve the listener in any way. It can´t be a context reference either because it doesn´t emphasize on the context, on the situation, but on the listener. A context reference isn´t direct and personal like in this example.
If your grow up in a violent neighborhood it doesn’t mean that makes you a violent person because I grew up and is still growing in a not really good area and I’m not violent and shooting people I like to focus on my school work so I can have a better future.
