Black Codes or Black Law is laws implement to govern the African American. The best-renowned laws were passed in Southern States in year 1865 and 1866.The laws were implemented as the consequence of the American civil war, just to curb the strength of the African America and compel them to work on low wages. Though the codes existed even before the civil war in most of the northern States. But after the war, it was implemented in the Southern States also. The codes laid emphasis on continuing the political supremacy of the White citizens and subdue the freedom of the blacks.  

The Jim Crow laws later recovered the ethics of Blacks codes prohibiting Civil rights and liberties of African Americans. Democrats re-claimed their command in the southern legislature with the support of rebellious parliamentary groups such as “White Shirts” and “Red shirts” in the 1870s. They underway overturning blacks and distracting the Republican organization resulting in  upturn of  violence against black.

The Black Codes was a law implemented by the Southern US to stop African Americans to seek their freedom. They also passed this law to stopped them from asking a higher wage. They wanted them to continue to work on their farms.
