In the South, racial segregation played a role in determining the dominant race. The government provided favorable privileges that depend on color. It made a line between the two races in every facility, opportunity, services, work that there is in the South.  For the superior race, this was correct.

wlad13 [49]

Answer:

Understand why people vote the way they do.

Explanation:

Political scientists frequently use political surveys, be it private or public (like the ANES) surveys, in order to ask voters for information such as  whom they voted for, their party affiliation, and their opinions of political parties and their candidates. With this information, they are able to form statistics which helps political parties see how they are doing, among other things.

How do Phelan's beliefs about Chainese immigrants demonstrate nativism?
Tresset [83]

Explanation:  The Chinese Exclusion Act was passed in 1882, and again in 1892.] The Exclusion Acts then passed were limited to ten years’ duration. In May next the latest act will expire by limitation, and Congress will be asked to renew it, because, until now, Chinese exclusion has been regarded in diplomatic circles and elsewhere as the settled policy of the country. Has there been any change in the nature of the evil, or in the sentiments of the people? Certainly not on the Pacific Coast, where the lapse of time has made still more evident the non-assimilative character of the Chinese and their undesirability as citizens.
