During the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001, 2996 people were killed, and more than 6,000 injured. Out of this, 2606 in the the World Trade Center, while 265 of them in the four planes where there were no survivors. In addition, 125 of them died in the Pentagon. The motive for this terrorist attack was the holy war that bin Laden declared against the United States.
