Answer: Japan believed as a small country it needed to expand in order to develop and become more economically independent. As a result of the Great Depression Japan saw an opportunity to seize more land and establish an "Empire" before the Americans and British could react. One key strategy of this plan was to destroy the American Pacific fleet (mostly aircraft carriers) at Pearl Harbour, thus preventing an American counteroffensive until it was too late.

Germany became so reliant on American money after WW1 that the whole country practically imploded when the American money dried up. The fear of a Communist take over caused President Hindenburg to make Hitler Chancellor in the hope that once the Depression was over there would be no need for Hitler and his Nazi henchmen. Unfortunately, Hindenburg died and Hitler took over complete control.

Adolf Hitler had some "unfinished" business with the world dating back to his experiences in WW1. Now that he was in control of Germany he set about her military development with a view of revenge and domination.

Which 1920s trend favored individual experiences, emotions, and the expression of personal
Dominik [7]

Answer:

The correct response is Option D: Modernism.

Explanation:

In the 1920s, there was a struggle between new cultural movements and social developments and the traditional values and conventions of the past.  There was a new youth movement in the 1920s that challenged the old values of the previous generations. The modernists were more focused on the present and they looked to the future in order to anticipate changes were coming their way. There was new energy and excitement with the growth of urban living and fast-paced life in the larger cities.  Modernists like the famous flappers, automobile owners, and those who listened to jazz music preferred the fast-paced lifestyle as opposed to the slower-paced anti-modernist lifestyle.

What do you see as the driving force behind all the changes in power in South American countries?
Burka [1]

Answer:

n 1992 Wal-Mart passed Sears to become the world’s number one retailer.  How did Sears allow this to happen?  First, Sears suffered from the arrogant assumption that it was invulnerable, and then its leaders fundamentally misunderstood the key competitive dynamics in the market (which I refer to as the mindset problem), and allowed Wal-Mart to out-innovate them in three critical performance dimensions:  cost of goods, cost of distribution, and pricing.  In essence, Wal-Mart mastered one of the six critical forces that drive today’s economy, commoditization.

Commoditization, the inexorable pressure that drive prices downward, continues to be a formidable competitive force that is manifested in our times in many ways, from the Wal-Mart-ization of the world’s retail supply chain and the accompanying outsourcing of manufacturing to Asia, to upheaval in the retail grocery business, to the outsourcing of computer services to India, to the precipitous drop in the price of computing power, to the cheap air fares that we now enjoy.
