<span>The central idea of Roger Williams was "god and government", something that he described many times in his writings. Although A Key to the Language of America does not have much to do with his religious thought, something that he used to raise in other writings, he frequently mentions religion as an initial foundation in Native Americans and all who first came to land . The book expressed how Williams realized that Christianity was far from the life of the Native Americans but at the same time they admired a god similar to his own. It is a mixture of the destruction of the Christian and moral beliefs of the natives, something that he did not accept as leader of the Baptist church.</span>
