How did Levi Coffin aid resistance efforts in the 1800s? Levi Coffin was a law enforcement patroller who helped slaves that he f

ound escape rather than arresting them and returning them to their owners. Coffin and his family developed songs for slaves that contained lyrics that were actually words to guide escaped slaves to the Underground Railroad. Levi Coffin called for radical support of abolition and formed a political party that met with government officials about ending slavery in all U.S. states. Coffin and his wife risked their own freedom by serving as a "station" on the Underground Railroad to assist escaped slaves with food, clothing, and housing.

The Santa Fe Ring included some of New Mexico's highest officials. What happened as a result?
liq [111]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

In the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, a group of rich and influential lawyers in Santa Fe, New Mexico, amassed fortunes through bribery and corruption acts such as frauds in selling land. They were known as the "Santa Fe Ring."

These corruptive actions generated the ire of people in Santa Fe, initiating the Lincoln County War on February 18, 1788, after the assassination of rancher John Tunstall. Santa Fe lived a period of violence and confrontations during those years.
