Overfishing of salmon has caused populations of wild salmon to decline. To combat this decline, salmon are raised in hatcheries,
Tomtit [17]

The differences in the wild and hatcheries make it so the different salmon adapt differently and have different traits.

If salmon are split up into different habitats, one being in the wild and one being in captivity, they will eventually have different adaptations from each other and their offspring will develop traits that are better suited for their environment.

Wild salmon and salmon that are raised in captivity are going to be very different from each other. The salmon in captivity do not have to actively hunt for their food, be wary of certain predators, or may not want to reproduce.

Taking these factors into account, it is very possible that the salmon raised in captivity will have reduced reproductive success compared to the salmon that thrive in the wild. Along with this, they would most likely have many genetic differences from each other and other traits that better adapt to their living situations.

How did the Five Tribes profit most from mining activities in Indian Territory?
wlad13 [49]

Oklahoma's economic history is divided into four periods. The first period covers the nineteenth century, encompassing settlement by American Indians of the Southeast followed by new arrangements facilitating private land ownership. The second extends from 1900 to the onset of the Great Depression in 1930. The third ends in 1973 with the first of the major oil shocks. The fourth comprises the energy boom and bust of the late twentieth century, along with contemporary conditions.

The century from 1800 to 1900 encompassed the time of Indian and white settlement. During the nineteenth century Oklahoma was characterized by very high ratios of land to labor and capital, by almost total dominance of primary (natural resource based) production, and by unique institutional and cultural features, of which the effects of some remain important in today's economy. The initial settlement by the Five Civilized Tribes in the 1820s, 1830s, and 1840s in what is now Oklahoma (at that time Indian Territory) did not reflect free-market labor migration in response to income differentials. Added to the coercion of removal was the fact that the Five Tribes had adopted the institution of slavery in their former southern setting. Slave-owning Indians brought with them an additional labor supply.

President Reagan’s ""Peace through Strength"" is most similar to which earlier presidential policy?
sweet-ann [11.9K]

The policy by Reagan of "Peace through Strength" is similar to the Big Stick ideology of President Theodore Roosevelt.

What did "Peace through Strength" mean?

This was a policy by Reagan that called for building the American military so that peace would be achieved when other nations like the Soviet Union would be too scared to attack American military might.

This was similar to the Big Stick ideology by Roosevelt which called for having a strong military when negotiating with others so that they don't try to attack the U.S.
