The Supreme Court case Engel v. Vitale was heard in 1961 when some parents of students forced to recite daily prayers in school sued the New York school district.

The involved parents believed prayer in schools violated the First Amendment.

Majority opinion stated that public schools had no right to include official prayers, as it violated the Establishment Clause.

Dissenting opinion stated that allowing students to pray was in no way a violation of the Constitution. On the contrary, denying students the right to pray in school was unfair.

There are many issues about prayer in schools, I don't believe that prayer should be included in schools because certain students have certain beliefs
