<span>The trading patterns of the United States were such that they traded with the triple Entente and the triple Alliance, which is basically that they traded with both sides. Eventually, they joined the war on the side of Entente which consisted of Russia, Great Britain, and France, as well as some others like Serbia and Italy switched sides and joined them.</span><span />
