Can someone help me with this math problem
RUDIKE [14]
This is very similar to the last problem i helped you with. For the shortest path we dont want to take extra stops we want the most dircet path. This path is oakdale to bloomington and then to danville. So we must add these distances.
23 and 1/5 + 9 and 1/3
Convert to like denominators
We get 23 and 3/15 + 9 and 5/15
After adding we get 32 and 8/15

\mathrm{ \triangle DEF    \sim   \triangle DRQ}

Therefore the sides will be proportional,

  • \dfrac{n}{9}  =  \dfrac{4}{12}

  • n =  \dfrac{1}{3}  \times 9

  • n = 3 \:  \: units

<u>Figure - 2</u> :

Let the missing side as " m "

The Triangles are similar, therefore their sides will be proportional.

  • \dfrac{m}{8}  =  \dfrac{9}{6}

  • m =  \dfrac{3}{2}  \times 8

  • m = 3 \times 4

  • m = 12 \:  \: units
