For his domestic accomplishments. He signed executive order to prohibit racial discrimination. And he also began the process of Project Apollo as the first journey for a man to the moon. 

Foreign policy accomplishments. He established the Alliance Progress that sent aid to and human rights standards to countries in Latin America that were perceived to contain communism threat.

He asked congress to create the Peace Corps. Which the Americans would volunteer. to help nations that are not developed in areas such as farming, education, health care, etc.
