The Chicano Rights movement which is also known as Chicano civil Rights movement came up at the time of Civil Rights era in 1960s. The Chicano movement largely addressed Mexico's negative ethnic stereotypes in the media and American consciousness.
The Chicano movement also highlighted the differentiation in the Public and Private institutions and due to this in the 20th century they established several organizations to protect themselves from the differentiation.
Two actions that were taken by the federal government : Firstly, They didn't honor many treaties that they had. Another is that In 1831 the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, John Marshall, had attempted to define their status. I hope this helps.

As a result, workers were placed in horrible working conditions for smaller wages as new groups joined the labor pool.
While some fought unfair employment practices, others thought that the solution was to get rid of capitalism altogether. Socialism was viewed as the most fair way to distribute the fruits of the labor as everyone could take according to his/her need.
