If the excerpt is this
‘I could, if you’d let me, talk and talk. Let’s talk about anything. I believe the influence of Kierkegaard on Camus is underestimated. I believe Dennis Gabor may very well have been the Antichrist. I believe Hobbes is just Rousseau in a dark mirror. I believe, with Hegel, that transcendence is absorption. I could interface you guys right under the table,’ I say. ‘I’m not just a creâtus, manufactured, conditioned, bred for a function.’

Then the answer is the people he is addressing expect a confrontation.

The correct answer is D). The assumption that the narrator makes in this excerpt is that the people he is addressing expect a confrontation.

In the line “I could interface you guys right under the table,” you can induce the attitude or the invitation to confront ideas, regarding the comparisons he has expressed lines above.

The text is taken from the novel “Infinite Jest” written by David Foster Wallace in 1996. This bestseller is a futuristic novel in which the U. S., Canada, and Mexico form a unified territory known as the Organization of North American Nations or O.N.A.N. The name is related to Onanism(Hysteria).

What were two ways that the idea of total war was used in world war 1
Mkey [24]

The two ideas of total war was used because the countries against each other where angry with each other and It was one of the deadliest conflicts in history and precipitated major political change, including the Revolutions of 1917–1923 in many of the nations involved. Unresolved rivalries at the end of the conflict contributed to the start of the Second World War twenty-one years later. They wanted to end conflict. The second reason was that each country wanted more power. It was a "war to end all wars" But it never ended all wars since World War II Came around the corner twenty-one years later.
