Benito Mussolini became the Prime Minister of Italy because King Vittorio Emanuele Maria Gennaro ( King Victor Emmanuel III) feared a Civil War when fascist march on Rome. It allowed Mussolini to form a great government.
Mussolini became the Prime Minister of Italy on October 31st, 1922.
