All you have to do is first make the 3/5 into a decimal so it can be multiplied by the 40. 3/5 is .60 so you can use that number. (.60*40) and that should be w=equal to 24 which is your answer.

3/5 x 40 = 24

of=times (x)

5 goes into 40, 8 times so cross out the 5 and replace it with 1 and cross out the 40 and replace it with 8. Then you are left with 3 x 8  which equals 24.

madam [21]

Answer:

36

Step-by-step explanation:

8x + 4 = 4x + 20

8x - 4x = 20 - 4

4x = 16 divide both sides by 4

x = 4 and JM = 8x + 4 replace x with 4

8×4 + 4 = 36

iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

x = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

- 7x - 3x + 2 = - 8x - 2 ← simplify left side

- 10x + 2 = - 8x - 2 ( add 8x to both sides )

- 2x + 2 = - 2 ( subtract 2 from both sides )

- 2x = - 4 ( divide both sides by - 2 )

x = 2

Select the correct answer.<br> Which of the following sets of ordered pairs represents a function?
iogann1982 [59]

Answer: {(-8, -14), (-7,-12), (-6,-10), (-5,-8)}

Step-by-step explanation: A function is a relation in which each x-coordinate corresponds to exactly one y-coordinate.

In the relations show here, notice that the first set

of ordered pairs is the only set where each x-coordinate

appears once with a different y-coordinate.

In the other ordered pairs, there is an x-coordinate that appears more

than once and it corresponds to a different y-coordinate.

For example, in the second relation,

the x-coordinate -9 appears twice.

In one case, -9 corresponds to -12 and

in the other case, it corresponds to -8.

So, this is not a function.
