How were the goals for NATO and Warsaw Pact different than those for the United Nations?

The NATO were formed to stop the spread of communism and the Warsaw Pact was to be formed for the Nato Alliance, and to keep the eastern countries in line since most of the soviet troops had deployed in those countries.
