helpppp!! what do you think is the reason that there are earthquakes in the 3 states missouri, illinois, and tennesse?
kow [346]

Answer: The reason this states have so many earthquakes is the fact of where they are located in the region of these states the earth surface has relatively thin crust and has high heat flow, both of which can favor relatively high deformation rates and active faulting. Unlike the opposite side of the states which has a colder much thicker crust which causes less fault formation and deformation of the crust.

Explain how the quantity of atmospheric oxygen links to the type of CO2 being released:
OLEGan [10]
CO2 is an important trace gas in Earth's atmosphere. It is an integral part of the carbon cycle, a biogeochemical cycle in which carbon is exchanged between the Earth's oceans, soil, rocks and the biosphere. Plants and other photoautotrophs use solar energy to produce carbohydrate from atmospheric carbon dioxide and water by photosynthesis. Almost all other organisms depend on carbohydrate derived from photosynthesis as their primary source of energy and carbon compounds.

how does the pandemic affect food demand and whose food security and livelihoods are most at risk due to the pandemic ?
Lostsunrise [7]

Answer:

1. The pandemic has negatively affected food demand. A United Nation forecast shows that by the end of 2020, about 132 million people would experience chronic hunger in the world. This is an addition to the 690 million people already hungry today.

2. Those whose livelihoods and food security are at risk are;

a. Vulnerable groups such as migrants, fishers, small-scale farmers, children who are dependent on school meals, sick individuals with special food needs.

b. Developing countries and underdeveloped countries. Small island developing countries are also at risk because they depend on the importation  of food.

Explanation:

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations reports an increase in food demand across the world with the onset and persistence of the pandemic. As at 2019, 690 million people the world over were experiencing chronic hunger. The onset of the pandemic resulted in the addition of 132 million people to this number.

Vulnerable groups such as;

a. Small-scale farmers will experience a hike in the cost of food production and sales.

b. Fishers might not have access to the water bodies for catching fishes.

c. Migrants who do not knw their way around may experience difficulties in obtaining food.

d. Developing and under-developing countries already struggling with their economies might experience difficulties in providing citizens with food through importation.

e. The sick with special food requirements will also be affected.

2. How much Potential Energy is gained when a 1250 N mass is raised a vertical distance of<br>35 m?
vichka [17]

Potential Energy

The potential energy gained is 43750 J

Explanation:

Potential energy is the energy by virtue of an object's position relative to the ground ie, the height of the other object.

For example, an object has more potential energy when it is on top of a two-story building than it does resting on the ground. That's because the object's relative position to the Earth gives it more energy.

Potential Energy is defined as

Potential energy = Mass * height

Given Mass M = 1250 N

Given height h = 35 m

So the potential energy = 1250 * 35 = 43750 J

Thus the potential energy is 43750 J
