Answer:

While parts (1), (2), and (3) are accurate, part (4) needs revision.

Explanation:

Part 1 is correct, the Byzantine Empire is the name given to the Eastern Roman Empire during the Middle Ages, until its fall in 1453.

Part 2 is also correct, the Arab Empire expanded quickly, and managed to conquer the Persian Empire.

Part 3 is also accurate, the Arab Empire expanded in Byzantine territories.

Part 4 on the other hand, is incorrect. The Arab rulers were muslim, but in some periods, they did not even require people to convert to Islam. Confucianism is not so much a religion, but a doctrine, and it's influence is almost exclusive to China (where it is from), Korea and Japan.

Explain why slaves were needed in the southern states but not needed in the northern states.
Novay_Z [31]
Interesting question!

It is a huge misconception that there were no slaves in the north. Slavery was not as common due to the fact that the Northern economy was not as heavily agricultural as in the South. New York and Connecticut had large slave populations. In the North they have cold winters and the South had mild winters. Meaning you would have to provide warmer cloths, food and warmer shelter which would cost slave owners in the North more money

What was the intent of westward expansion?
lakkis [162]

Answer:

Establish MORE!

Explanation:

The U.S wanted to establish more states and towns, as this would lead to more money and a bigger country. This led to the establishment of the states of California and Texas, and Manifest Destiny played a huge part in this, Manifest Destiny being the "god given" right to expand westward.

diamong [38]

The conjugation of the verb "design" to "designed", without any auxiliary verb such as "have" or "do", shows the use of the 'simple past" tense (also known as preterite), whose principal function is to place a completed action or situation in a moment before "now".

What tense is the underlined verb in the sentence? The architect designed a daring structure.

D. Past
