Answer:

Kubic's article consists of three parts. In the first part, he provides the complete account of the witch trials which occurred in 1692. The author depicts how convicted people were actually not guilty of the accusations. In the second part, he focuses on how 100 years later the sweeping execution of the enemies of the revolution in France, well known as "Reign of Terror" followed the similar patterns. In the last part named "Public Scares in the USA", Kubic somehow summarizes the culmination of these historic demagoguery adding the examples of resettlement of Japanese Americans, First and the Second Red Scares in 20th century America and to sump up he deals with the prevalence of prejudice that remained on the agenda even after two and half century later.

Semi-historical narratives that account for the deeds of heroes, the movements of peoples, and the establishment of local custom
o-na [289]

Semi-historical narratives that account for the deeds of heroes, the movements of peoples, and the establishment of local customs are called:. legends.

What is legend?

A legend is a type of folklore that consists of a narrative about human actions that are believed or perceived to have occurred in human history by both the teller and the listeners. This genre's narratives may demonstrate human values and have certain characteristics that lend the story verisimilitude. Miracles may occur in legend for both active and passive participants. Legends can be changed over time to keep them fresh and relevant.

Many legends exist in a state of ambiguity, never entirely believed by the participants but also never completely dismissed.

Legends are distinguished from myths by the fact that they feature humans as the main characters rather than gods.

What statement best summarizes the argument the author makes in order to convince women to “adapt [themselves] to [their] husban
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

I would say the correct answer is D . Without her husband, a woman would lead a life of total misery.

Explanation:

In this passage, Jennings says that both nature and "mankind" have made the man superior to his wife. Some of his rights are "natural", others "acquired", but he has them all and his wife (obviously) none. It follows that a woman is utterly devastated if she chooses not to adapt and even submit to her husband.

This is not a general statement about avoidance of conflict. Nor is it about the man's social connections and influence - Jennings clearly thinks that man's power doesn't stem from social circumstances alone, but from nature too. It's not about women's education (or lack thereof) either. That part is not even mentioned.
