How did Jefferson’s presidency and the war of 1812 help shape the u.s and create a national identity for the USA

Thomas Jefferson's presidency had an enormous affect on America's national identity. One of the biggest contributions made by Jefferson was his focus on limiting the size and scope of the federal government. Minimizing the power of the federal government is one trend that other presidents do follow and continue to follow to this day.

The War of 1812 also shaped America's national identity. This war against the British resulted in the US showing their military strength/determination by holding off the British from taking back control of America. This also was the first military conflict against a country after the creation of the US Constitution. This helps to develop the idea that America will be a country that stands up against nations who they feel are threatening our way of life.

aleksandrvk [35]

The correct answer is C) a nation seeking support and protection from other nations."

The option that would have benefited most from the implementation of Wilson’s Fourteen Points is "a nation seeking support and protection from other nations."

At the end of World War 1, US President Woodrow Wilson had a real interest in the total pacification of western Europe after so much conflict and destruction. The economic interests of the United States were also at risk. So on January 8, 1918, he addressed Congress to develop 14 points that he considered would allow for long-lasting peace in Europe. The speech is known as the "14 Points Speech." Among the most important points were the free navigation of the seas, the establishment of fair trade conditions between the countries, and the evacuation of Montenegro, Serbia, and Romania.
