The statements that describe the outcomes of military intervention in Afghanistan and Iraq are:

-Saddam Hussein was removed from office in Iraq.

-Democratic governments have been established in Afghanistan and Iraq.

-The United States and national governments struggled to provide stability.

Both wars are included within the framework of the "War on Terrorism".

In Iraq, the war led to the rapid defeat of the Iraqi military, the overthrow of the dictator Saddam Hussein, his capture in December 2003 and his execution three years later. The coalition led by the United States in the new Iraq tried to establish a new democratic government. Coalition forces have had to cope shortly after the end of the war with organized violence against the coalition forces and between the various Iraqi ethnic groups, which led to an asymmetric war, with the appearance on the ground of thousands of foreign jihadists mainly Maghrebis, who have fomented civil strife between Sunnis and Shiites, in an effort to destabilize the country.

In Afghanistan, the initial attack took the Taliban out of power, but the war has been less successful than expected in terms of restricting the movement of al Qaeda.
