The 117th Christmas Bird Count is now over. As usual in January, I will discuss the highlights of some of the Maine counts. These standardized censuses provide an important tool to monitor the abundance of winter birds throughout North America and beyond.
I’ll concentrate on changes in regularly wintering birds, the arrival of unpredictable invaders and records of lingering birds whose wintering areas are well to our south. A rarity or two may pop up as well.
We’ll start with the southern Maine coast. The York County count was held on Dec. 21. Thirty observers found 82 species of birds.
Answer:
Cell differentiation and cell division both work together by starting out with a somatic cell(basic cell) and cell differentiation gives it the specific instructions in the DNA to enable it to perform its function, then cell division comes in also known as mitosis, and it makes the cell with the whole package included with its function
Explanation:
The difference between phylum and divisions is....Phylum is part of the animal kingdom, it is not fungi,New classification for Protista, term created by Haeckel, and includes heterotrophs.
Division is part of the plant kingdom, for fungi, old classification for Protista, created by Eichler and includes autographs and saprotrophs. They have different kingdoms, ones fungi and one is not, one is a new classification for Protista and one is old, they created by different people, and include different things.
C.) viruses need a living host to reproduce... this is cause by viruses being Dioxyriboneuclicacid(DNA) surrounded by a protien shell so viruses are not alive per say.... but they get into cells and use living cells to reproduce
