Answer:

70/14=5 and 54/9=6

Step-by-step explanation:

Your first question is 70 divide by 14 it will be equal to 5

and the second question is 54 divide by 9 and it will be equal to 6

Now lets start solving it one by one with detailed explanation,

Division is nothing but adding one number as many times as other number means, if you want to divide 70 by 14 then you need to add 14 five times

14+14+14+14+14=70

so you need to add it 5 times hence the answer is five.

Also a smarter way to answer this question is you are dividing 70/14

so just think like first multiplying 14 with 10 it will give you 140 but you need 70 just half of it so you need to multiply with 5 doesn't it?

just think by this way it help you calculate the value in easier way.

Also to get the answer in a quicker way just consider the unit digit place,

like we are dividing 70/14 you don't know the table of 14 so how you will do then just consider the unit digit of 14 i.e 4 so now count its table it is easier to count as compared to 14.

so 4*1=4, 4*2=8, 4*3=12, 4*4=16 and 4*5=70.

now in each count just look at the unit place it 1,8,2,6 and 0.

so now here you can get an hint that by 14 with 5 you can get 70 (as the unit digit multiplication is yielding 0)

so by this way you can solve such problem if you find it harder to calculate, just break the bigger problem in smaller parts and then try to solve it.

similarly we can calculate for 2nd question,

we need to add 9 six times to reach 54,

9+9+9+9+9+9= 54

hence the answer is 6.

You can do it for all other questions also.

Hope you will find it helpful.

<u>Answer:</u>

11

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

We are given the following expression and we are to solve it:

\frac {70} {14} + \frac {54} {9}

Simplifying both the fractions before adding them to make it easier to solve:

= \frac {70} {14} + \frac {54} {9}

= 5 + 6

= 11

Therefore, the answer to the given mathematical expression is 11.

A clothing store advertises that it is having a 25% off sale. for one day only, the store advertises and additional savings of 1
kogti [31]

Let assume x be the sale price

A clothing store advertises that it is having a 25% off sale.

The sale price with 25% discount is f(x) = sale price - 25% of sale price

f(x)= x - 0.25x = 0.75x

For one day only, the store advertises and additional savings of 10%.

The sale price with 10% discount is g(x) = sale price - 10% of sale price

g(x)= x - 0.10x = 0.90x

Use composition function

g(f(x)) = g( 0.75x) = 0.90(0.75x) = 0.675x

That is 0.675/100 = 67.5%

The total percent discount = 100% - 67.5% = 32.5%

what would be the sale price of a $40 sweater?

Here sale price x= 40

So we plug in 40 for x

g(f(40)) = g( 0.75(40)) = 0.90(0.75(40)) = 0.675(40) = 27

The sale price of sweater = $27

Lets define a=1st number, b=2nd number, and c=3rd number

We know that a+b+c=126

We also know that the second number is 6 more than the first, so we can represent this as b=a+6

We also know that the third number is 3 times the first which can be represented as c=3a

We can plug these new values into our original equation and get:

a+(a+6)+(3a)=126

2a+6+3a=126 COMBINE LIKE TERMS

5a+6=126

5a=120

a=24

Our first number is 24.

Our second number is 6 more than our first number, so the second number is 24+6=30

Our third number is 3 times the first number, so the third number is 3(24)=72

We can check by plugging these numbers in for a, b, and c in our original equation

a+b+c=126

24+30=72=126

126=126

The sides of a square aretwo to the power of four ninths inches long. What is the area of the square?
sergeinik [125]
Since the <span>sides of a square aretwo to the power of four ninths inches long.
</span>
Therefore, it can be written as :

The side of the square = 2^{ \frac{4}{9} }

Now, area of square = (side)*(side) = side^{2}

Area, A = (2^{ \frac{4}{9} } )^{2}

or A = (2^{ \frac{4}{9} } ) * (2^{ \frac{4}{9} } ) = (2)^{ \frac{4}{9} +\frac{4}{9} } =  (2)^{ \frac{8}{9}
