Lets get started :)

a) m(x) = (x - 5)(3 + 2x) - x² + 25
                   ↓
       Open Brackets
                   ↓
       = (x × 3) + (x × 2x) + (-5 × 3) + (-5 × 2x) - x² + 25
       = 3x + 2x² - 15 - 10x - x² + 25 (Bring like-terms together in descending power order)
       = 2x² - x² + 3x - 10x - 15 + 25
       = x² - 7x + 10

b) In x² - 7x + 10, -7 is the sum and + 10 is the product
                  - 2 + - 5 = -7
                  - 2 × -5 = 10

So the factor of x² - 7x +10 is:
                   ↓
           (x - 2)(x - 5)
Solving ( x - 2 )( x - 5 ) = 0
                 ↓ ↓
           x - 2 = 0 | x - 5 = 0
             x = 2     |    x = 5

20 points.
Please answer and explain if possible.
Multiply.
-2y^2 * xy^4
Readme [11.4K]

When the bases are the same, you can combine the exponents.

x³ [x is where the base is]

For example:

x³ · y² = x³y² You can't simplify this anymore because they have different bases/variables

[when you multiply a variable with an exponent by a variable with an exponent, you add the exponents together] so:

x² · x³ = x^{2+3}=x^5

[when you multiply a variable with an exponent by an exponent, you multiply the exponents together] so:

(x³)²=x^{3*2}=x^6

-2y^2*xy^4=-2x(y^{2+4})=-2xy^6

hammer [34]

Answer: Midpoint= -13/2, -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Midpoint formula is (X1+X2)/2, (Y1+Y2)/2

So.

1. (-7+(-6))/2, (-7+(-1))/2

2. That equals -13/2,-4
