The incorrect element is the pronoun "them". The answer is (C) the pronoun "them" should be replaced by "him".

A pronoun is a word that is used to replace a noun in a sentence. The pronoun "them" is always used to refer to a plural noun, while the pronouns "him" and "her" are always used to refer to a singular noun. As the pronoun that comes after "stopped" is replacing the noun "man" in the sentence, the use of the pronoun "them" is incorrect because "man" is a singular noun. In that way, "them" must be replaced by "him", a pronoun that can be used to refer to a male person.

C.The pronoun “them” should be replaced by the pronoun “him.”

The man sped down the road until a police officer stopped them. In this sentence there is not agreement between subject and object. Subject : The man, third person singular , and the object: them, third person plural.

The man sped down the road until a police officer stopped him. This sentence has agreement bewteen subject and object.

Last week you received an email from your local council:
evablogger [386]

Greetings,

I am writing to the council regarding the situation that we currently have with the telephone network. I am grateful for the concern of the council by installing a new telecoms tower in order to improve the telephone network,

Despite the installation of the new telecoms tower, the telephone network has not improved but rather worsened. I am not happy about this as it has affected my personal life and business as I cannot make important calls.

I will be glad if this can be quickly addressed in order for the residents to be able to make calls easily and efficiently. I believe that some of the ways that this can be addressed in order to ensure that there is improvement in the telephone network, is to make sure that the right officials come for the installation.

Furthermore, when the new telecoms tower is installed, it should be tested to make sure that there is improvement in the telephone network. I believe that with this in place, there will be improvement.

Thank you.
