Demonstrate how the idea will make their lives better as well. I can also try and leverage psoitive emotions. Meaning that I will create excitement in people so they are more willing to step up and say they support my ideas. Some colleagues may not respond to positive emotions, so I will go negative. When you make people really feel the pain of them problem, they are more likely to want to solve it.
