Basically, you try to find 2 numbers that divide to 3/2. So, using trial and error, plug in numbers for x in this expression: x/24=3/2, and solve to find the number that makes it true. You end up getting 36/24=3/2. Hope that helps! :)

Which equation, in slope-intercept form, passes through (–2, 4) and has a
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

y=3x+10

Step-by-step explanation:

First, put the equation into point-slope form.

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y-4=3(x+2)

Next, distribute 3 to (x+2) and simplify.

y-4=3x+6

y=3x+10

Whats the point of intersection between these two lines?<br><br>x+y=10<br>x+2y=14
Yakvenalex [24]
You have to make an equation that i forgot what was called but you just take
x+y=10 and multiply it by -2 so the y’s can cancel out

so you’ll end up with:

-2x-2y= -20
(+) x+2y=14

you’ll get : x = -6

then you plug in -6 for x, solve for y and your coordinates will be

(-6 , 10)

What is the equation of a line that is parallel to -x+3y=6 and passes through the point (3,5)?
Elena-2011 [213]

For this case we have that by definition, the equation of the line in the slope-intersection form is given by:

Where:

m: It's the slope

b: It is the cut-off point with the y axis

By definition, if two lines are parallel then their slopes are equal.

We have the following line:

-x + 3y = 6\\3y = x + 6\\y = \frac {1} {3} x + \frac {6} {3}\\y = \frac {1} {3} x + 2

Thus, the slope is:m_ {1} = \frac {1} {3}

Then m_ {2} = \frac {1} {3}

So, the line is of the form:

y = \frac {1} {3} x + b

We substitute the point(x, y) :( 3,5)and find b:

5 = \frac {1} {3} (3) + b\\5 = b

Thus, the equation is:

y = \frac {1} {3} x + 5

Answer:

y = \frac {1} {3} x + 5
