The protagonist of Steinbeck's"Of Mice and Men", George, interacts with the supporting characters in many ways. He treats Lennie like a misbehaving child, constantly reprimanding him. George scolds, "put that mouse down, Lennie". however, George also comforts and defends Lennie, like when he tells him about the land they dream of having. Towards the other characters, George is down to earth and level-headed, such as the time he calmly tells Slim that he killed Lennie.
