"The Lions of Little Rock" takes place in 1958 in the town of Little Rock in Arkansas. It is a story about to girls, named Marlee and Liz, who befriended each other in a time where their town, decided to close its schools in order to block the ongoing process of desegregation that the country was going through.  

The major conflict throughout the story is forced impediment of a friendship that was creating much good in Marlee and how <em>segregation policies hinder the development of a society</em>.

Beowulf is battling against evil because he sailed to the Danes to rescue them from Grendel. It is evident in lines 195 onwards to fight Grendel. SO when the night came, Beowulf and his warriors waited in the hall for Grendel to come. Together with his warriors, they sailed to help King Hrothgar defeat Grendel who continued to kill his men.
