People should read lord of the flies because it has an interesting and surprising plot. Also because it shows the darker side of humans in cynicism that isn't very popular nowadays, which offers a refreshing point of view. Also it encourages deep self reflection about your own dark side and how you would honestly feel in a situation that the boys were in.
In DeCristofano's book, she describes black Holes as if they were whirlpools. They work like a swirling current that sucks in anything nearby. Things that are further away aren't affected. They are too far to feel the whirlpool's pull. But anything close had better watch out! Fish, driftwood, and fallen leaves can all get sucked into a whirlpool. This is how a black hole sucks in space materials.
