The Science Club went on a two-day field trip. The first day the members paid $40 for transportation plus $18 per ticket to the

planetarium. The second day they paid $90 for transportation plus $15 per ticket to the geology museum. Write an expression to represent the total cost in dollars for two days for the n members of the club.

18+15=33 the amount paid per ticket
40+90=130 the amount paid for transportation (not dependent on the number of tickets bought)
The equation would be y=33x+130
Where x is the number of tickets sold
and y is the cost
Hope this helps!

Find S5 for the sequence 3, 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, 63, 73.
hoa [83]
 have an arithmetic sequence here....to find the common difference, subtract the first term from the second term. 13 - 3 = 10...so basically, ur adding 10 to each number to get to the next number.

before we find s5, we r going to find a5...because we need a5 to use in the sum formula.....a5 is the fifth term, and it is 43

sn = (n (a1 + a5) / 2
s5 = (5 (3 + 43) / 2
s5 = (5 (46)) / 2
s5 = 230/2
s5 = 115 <===

or, for this particular problem, s5 is the sum of the first 5 terms.
3 + 13 + 23 + 33 + 43 = 115.....u can do it this way for s5...but if u were asked to find s20, I suggest using the formula.

The cereal box shown below is a rectangular prism.
joja [24]

Answer:

Surface area is found:

Surface Area = 1700 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

(The cereal box is shown in the ATTACHMENT)

The surface area of a rectangular prism can be found by added the areas of all 6 sides of the rectangular prism.

L = length = 20 cm

H = height = 30 cm

W = Width = 5 cm

Side 1:

A(1) = L×H

A(1) = 20×30

A(1) = 600 cm²

Side 2:

As the measurements of the side at the back of side 1 has the same measurement of side 1. then:

A(2) = 600 cm²

Side 3:

A(3) = L×W

A(3) = 20×5

A(3) = 100 cm²

Side 4:

As the measurements of the side at the back of side 4 has the same measurement of side 4. then:

A(4) = 100 cm²

Side 5:

A(5) = H×W

A(5) = 30×5

A(5) = 150 cm²

Side 6:

As the measurements of the side at the back of side 5 has the same measurement of side 5. then:

A(6) = 150 cm²

Surface Area:

Adding areas of all the sides

A(1) + A(2) + A(3) +A(4) + A(5) + A(6) = 600 + 600 + 100 +100 + 150 +150

Surface Area = 1700 cm²
