The lakes, oceans, rivers, ponds, etc. evaporate during massive heat waves creating condensation that transports to the clouds that store it until they're too substantial and fall the precipitation, or heavy rain. The rain then falls on the waters until the rain stops then the cycle starts all over again. The heavy rain can cause natural disasters which we try to prevent from happening but sometimes the heavy rain can be a positive impact by feeding our food and plants making them grow.

Heavy rain causes floods every year. In some of the other countries there are floods. How can we prevent them? Well there is no way to prevent heavy rain, because they are natural disasters. But these heavy rains can also be harmful. For example acid rain is caused due to the global warming. Acid rains can destroy a lot of natural habitat, monuments and buildings. So we cannot prevent them. But remember, if you don't use too much chemicals, then we can save rain water and use it for additional purposes.
