Answer:

<em>Colons</em> and <em>semi-colons</em> are breaks within sentences, stronger than a <em>comma </em>but not a full stop; due the need to separate 2 or more independent clauses, especially if the subsequent clauses explain, emphasizes, sharpens, summarizes or illustrate the first one and both are closely related.

Thereby:

<em>1. One thought...as Friday approached</em><em>: </em><em>"Please let this week be over."</em>

<em>2. Thomas Jefferson...included the following</em><em>: </em><em>life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.</em>

<em>3. Ander's family...different cultures</em><em>: </em><em>his mother's...Swedish, while his...Brazilian.</em>

By personal opinion, if you HAVE to put a colon, I would put it after approached, following, and cultures. :)

Each lead to a subject that is listed in the sentence.

PLS HELP ASAP THIS IS DUE TODAY. Write a sonnet about nature .
Fiesta28 [93]

Answer:

(NOT MY SONNET)

Explanation:

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate:

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date:

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimm’d;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimm’d;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st;

Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade,

When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st;

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
