Answer:

Older adults remember less when compared to that of younger adults.

Explanation:

As adults age their ability to store information, that is, memory begins to undergo a slow and gradual process of deterioration, or if, in the modern world, the absurd amount of information we are bombarded with hinders its assimilation. For this reason, older adults remember less than younger adults.  In any case, memory loss cannot be considered as an inexorable fact associated with aging.

The answer is less. Older adults remember less when compared to that of younger adults.

EXPLANATION:

Compared with younger adults, older adults tend to remember less. It is a normal thing since the brain’s volume ideally reached its maximum performance in the early 20s then gradually declines. Usually, people in the 40s experience subtle change in their ability to remember little things such as new names. When this happens, the cortex in human/s brain starts to shrink.

There are three main reasons why older adults tend to remember less as they age:

  • As people get older, the brain experiences changes. This impacts the blood flow to the brain, which usually drops. This can impair memory and lead to changes in cognitive skills.
  • Proteins and hormones that protect and repair brain cells decline with age.
  • The region of the brain involved in the retrieval of memories, hippocampus, tend to deteriorate with age.

However, a human’s brain is capable of producing new brain cells at any age. Your daily activities, habits, and lifestyle play important roles in the health of your brain. So, as humans age, there are many ways to improve cognitive skills. As cognitive skills improve, you’re more likely to prevent memory loss.
