In ancient Rome, the wealthy noble citizens were known as the Patricians, while the lower class citizens were call the plebians. The plebians had far less social impact than the Patricians.
The major downfall of the Articles of Confederation<span>was simply </span>weakness<span>. The federal government, under the </span>Articles<span>, was too weak to enforce their laws and therefore had no power. The Continental Congress had borrowed money to fight the Revolutionary War and could not repay their debts.</span>
The United States historically had far less imperial actions in comparison to their European counterparts. The United States did not have massive colonial empires like Britain or France. The United States acquired some territories outside of the "continental" US however, it did not maintain an imperial presence like any of its European cohorts.
The fifteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution granted African American males the right to vote by stating that an American citizen's rights could not be infringed upon on the basis of a man's race or a colour.
However, it is important to consider the fact that, although this amendment was passed, it was not heavily enforced and many African American men were still denied the right to vote, especially in southern states.
