(0,-3)(3,3)
slope = (3 - (-3) / (3 - 0) = (3 + 3) / 3 = 6/3 = 2

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 2
use either of ur points....(0,-3)...x = 0 and y = -3
now sub and find b, the y int
-3 = 2(0) + b
-3 = b

so ur equation is : y = 2x - 3

Nice, we got a y intercept

y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept

the slope between the point (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)
given
(0,-3) and (3,3)
slope=(-3-3)/(0-3)=-6/-3=2

the y intercept is where x=0
given (0,-3)
(x,y)
the y intercept is -3

slope is 2=m
y intercept is -3=b

y=2x-3 is answer

5/4 to 3/8 as a percent change
Digiron [165]
Well, what's the diffrence from 5/4 to 3/8?

\bf \cfrac{5}{4}-\cfrac{3}{8}\qquad \stackrel{\textit{LCD is 8 clearly}}{\implies }\qquad \cfrac{10-3}{8}\implies \cfrac{7}{8}

so, if we take 5/4 to be the 100%, what is 7/8 off of it in percentage anyway?

\bf \begin{array}{ccll}
amount&\%\\
\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\
\frac{5}{4}&100\\\\
\frac{7}{8}&x
\end{array}\implies \cfrac{\quad \frac{5}{4}\quad }{\frac{7}{8}}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies \cfrac{5}{4}\cdot \cfrac{8}{7}=\cfrac{100}{x}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{40}{28}=\cfrac{100}{x}\implies x=\cfrac{28\cdot 100}{40}
