Answer:  Under its foreign policy of containment, the United States aimed to keep communism from expanding.  That meant trying to stop communist takeover of all of Korea and all of Vietnam.

Explanation/context:

The policy of containment focused on keeping communism and the Soviet Union's influence limited.  It influenced US foreign policy by prompting intervention in places like Korea and Vietnam to stop the spread of communism.

George F. Kennan recommended the policy of containment which set the tone for US involvement in world relations following World War II.  Kennan was an American diplomat in Moscow after World War II.  In 1946, he sent what became known as "the long telegram" of his advice about what the USA needed to do about the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) and the threat of communism.  He recommended not confronting the USSR directly but simply trying to keep communism contained to where it already had taken hold.

2. How did the survivors of the Middle Passage "ma[ke) the new land their own"?
Shtirlitz [24]

Hello, this question is about the article "Africans Migration to Colonial America"

Answer:

They began to dominate the land by learning the languages present in North America, getting to know the region and making connections with local residents.

Explanation:

Those who were privileged to survive Middle Passage created the new land because they were able to establish themselves efficiently in North America.

First, they learned the languages spoken in the region, so it would be possible to make connections with local residents. These connections were established through friendships and even joining lineages through marriages, agreements and other things, which allowed the survivors to establish themselves and create a promising environment for themselves and their descendants.

Elena L [17]

When Prussia was hit by famine in 1744, King Frederick the Great, a potato enthusiast, had to order the peasantry to eat the tubers. In England, 18th-century farmers denounced S. tuberosum as an advance scout for hated Roman Catholicism. “No Potatoes, No Popery!” was an election slogan in 1765. France was especially slow to adopt the spud. Into the fray stepped Antoine-Augustin Parmentier, the potato’s Johnny Appleseed.
