The quotation is by Pope Gregory and he talks about how some Christians sell their enslaved people to non-Christians who then use those enslaved as sacrifices to their gods.

This shows that the Christians in Europe in the eight century engaged in business with non-Christians which included but was not limited to, their enslaved people.

This was a big crime to the Pope and Christendom because not only were Christians not to associate with unbelievers and non-Christians. There was also the crime of knowing helping non-Christians in their religious practices by offering the enslaved for sacrifice.  

In conclusion, we know that Christians and non-Christians conducted business with each other in the eighth century.
