Find the area of trapezoid

Mathematics

Area = 1/2 h (b1 + b2)

If we draw another line inside the trapezoid half way between the top and bottom lines. This line will cut the sides on the left and right exactly in half.

And that is exactly what is happening in this picture. The side to the right is perfectly divided in half and the side to the left is also divided in half by that dashed line. That means that the second upper half of trapezoid is also 3, which makes the height to be 6.

Now that you know the height, you can find out the area.
(17+7)/2*6 = 72 cm^2

In a line of students, Jenna is number 8.The teacher says that a rule for a number pattern is add 4. The first student inline sa
Virty [35]

Answer:

Formula for nth term in Arithmetic sequences is:

a_n =a+(n-1)d

where a is the first term, d is the common difference and n is the number of terms.

As per the statement:

The rule for the pattern is add 4.

As the first term in line says the first term i,e 7

a= 7

common difference(d)= 7

As the Jenna number is 8th in line.

Series we get;

7, 11, .........a_8

We have to find the 8th term.

n = 8, a = 7 and d = 4

Using above formula:

a_8 = 7+(8-1)4 = 7+7 \cdot 4 = 7 +28 = 35

Therefore, 35 number should Jenna say.

I have many students are represented in the data set?
nalin [4]

Answer:

a) 19 students

b) the mean 3 9/19

the median 3

the mode 3

c) the range 6

Step-by-step explanation:

The data set shows that

0 points gets 1 student,

1 point gets 1 student,

2 points get 2 students,

3 points get 6 students,

4 points get 4 students,

5 points get 3 students and

6 points get 2 students.

a) There are 1+1+2+6+4+3+2=19 students.

b) The mean is

\dfrac{1\cdot 0+1\cdot 1+2\cdot 2+6\cdot 3+4\cdot 4+3\cdot 5+2\cdot 6}{19}=\dfrac{66}{19}=3\dfrac{9}{19}.

The average score is 3 9/19 points.

The median is 10th term in the data set - 3 points (means the middle score in the data set)

The mode is 3 points (means most happened score)

c) The range of the data is 6-0=6 points.

First correct response gets brainliest
Simora [160]

Answer:

x = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is based on Secant Secant theorem.

Secant Secant theorem gives us the following formula:

(AB + BD)AB = (AC + CE).AC

From the above question we have the following parameters

AB = 5

BD = x

AC = 7.5

CE = 4.5

Hence,

(AB + BD)AB = (AC + CE).AC

(5 + x)5 = (7.5 + 4.5)7.5

25 + 5x = 90

Collect like terms

5x = 90 - 25

5x = 65

x = 65/5

x = 13
