After winning the war against Britain, America came out as a country. American was recognized as a strong, independent country. This influenced Americans to have a sense of nationalism from the boosted confidence that came from the war. With this new sense of nationalism along with the exploration of the Louisiana territory, Americans soon came to believe that it was their duty to conquer the rest of the Western country. Manifest Destiny surfaced with this new confidence among Americans
