Answer:

The slaves that were owned by Native Americans in Indian territory were emancipated but to the laws that existed within each tribal society and to their terms of citizenship and belonging.

Explanation:

It is little known that many of the groups who were forcibly removed from the Southeast in the Indian Removal Act were also slave owners. It is estimated for instance by author Tiya Miles that 1600 slaves of Cherokee slave owners also went west with their Cherokee owners into Indian Territory, what is now Oklahoma. When abolition occurred what happened is that the slaves gained the rights and responsibilities within each nation, so according to the treaties and self-governing principles that each tribe had with the United States government. There continues to be tension about this today in the Cherokee Nation for example as some African American slave descendants claim tribal membership based on the treaties that were in place at the time of emancipation.

Lines 148-161: why does king provide so much detail about the political history of Vietnam? Evaluate your whether these facts su
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]

Answer:

Because he wants his audience to know Vietnam.

Explanation:

King addressed an American audience. He knew that this public did not, in fact, know Vietnam, but they relied on biased and often incorrect information, which painted Vietnam in a different image than it really was. King wanted to bring true information that would show Vietnam as a country that did not deserve to be attacked, much less "helped" in the way it was happening. For that reason, he gave so many details about the political history of Vietnam.

Which two statements suggest sound ways to apply hindsight when determining historical cause-and-effect? Choose both correct ans
elixir [45]

Answer:

  1. Compare sources to analyze their content for historical bias.
  2. Approach current interpretations of past events as historical fiction.

Explanation:

Though you can distinguished hindsight bias everywhere in human history, the event was first defined and analyzed as such. We might further look at all the positions and secondary aspects and understand that given these variables, it was apparent what was going to follow. Early studies asked individuals annual-classification trivia puzzles or required them to anticipate federal elections; they asked members to evoke their foresight. You might step away from the movie believing that you knew it all along, but the truth is that you plausibly didn't. When a drama approaches its end, and we learn who the killer was, we may look behind on our concept of the movie and misremember our primary impressions of the guilty character.

Why were elders from each lineage
Triss [41]

Answer:

In stateless societies, the elderly of each lineage were responsible for resolving disputes between lineages or individuals through practices in which the entire community was involved. Meetings were held in which both sides exposed their positions and perceptions of the conflict situation in front of the entire community.

Taking into account the knowledge that the experience gives, the elderly have legitimacy to make judgments of the events that have occurred and it is through consensus that it is established what will be done. There is a tendency for people to adhere to the positions of the elderly because they are considered wise and relevant.
