The conflict between Sumerians<span> and Elamites probably extended back to Neolithic ... The almost constant occurrence of war </span>among<span> the </span>city-states<span> of </span>Sumer<span> for two .... a situation that </span>led<span> to a relatively even development of weapons technology .</span>
<span>It was Article 231 that came to be called the War Guilt
clause that held Germany responsible for causing the war. It humiliated the Germans and they were very
angry about it. It also forced the
Germans to pay for damages caused by the war.
This bitter resentment among the Germans would later be used by Adolf
Hitler to rally the German people under his leadership and led to the rise of
Nazism in Germany. When Hitler assumed
power, he began invading one country after another which led to World War II.</span>
All of the above would be important factors .
During the early 1800s, America was a young nation whose political and economic structure was not as strong as it is today. As a result America had to face crop, insuarance and banking failures together with drops in the price of the cotton and the stock market and a crisis of credit and cash. It brought what was known as the economic panics.
