Perhaps you wanted pizza for dinner, but were out voted by the rest of the family who wanted chili. This is similar to what happ

ens in a community. One person has to give up a right for the good of the group. Sometimes citizens' duties and rights conflict with each other. A good example is a public protest. People have the right to meet in groups and share ideas. However, a protest can disrupt traffic or other normal activities. A city must provide extra police protection to keep people safe. Therefore, the city has the right to require permission in advance for a protest. Government must make laws to balance the rights of individuals and different groups of people. Answer: The correct answer is either "The paragraph uses the analogy of a family is to choosing dinner as a community is to balancing rights and safety" or "The paragraph contains an analogy"

Explanation: I took the test and got both of those correct. But since you didn't list the multiple choice answers it's either one of those. Depending on the answers listed :)

Pre-Raphaelite paintings were often based on
exis [7]

I believe the correct answer is B. scene from everyday life.

The Pre-Raphaelite movement opposed the British Royal Academy, which championed a narrow range of idealized or moral subjects and conventional definitions of beauty drawn from Renaissance and ancient classical art. The artists of this movement were inspired by the centuries preceding the Italian High Renaissance and they depicted nature and the human body realistically. Some of the examples of this movement are: “The Lady of Shalott” by John William Waterhouse and “Ophelia” by John Everett Millais.

Which statement is true about the paintings Nighthawks by Edward Hopper and House and Street by Stuart Davis?
arlik [135]

Answer:

They are examples of Modernism

Explanation:

Modernism is the philosophy and art style that was introduced in the Western countries around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Its central point is new types and forms of expression, experimentation in art, and revelation of individualism. In visual arts, it puts the accent on the symbolism, formalism, and modernity, often delving into the urban themes.

Painting Nighthawks by Edward Hopper is one of the most recognizable and famous art pieces of the modernism movement. In this work, he inspects modern urban space.

Stuart David does the same on his painting House and Street, although in a very different style. David’s painting is much more vibrant and abstract, reminding us of collage.

However, both paintings are part of the same modernist movement, as they both were the key pieces for expressing new ideas, exploring new techniques and designs through the various forms and symbolism.
