In Phaethon and Helios and handling Hermès stories, Helios had to grant Phaethon a drive on the sun god's chariot to confirm that he (Helios) was his real father. The determination caused problems when Phaethon failed to control the chariot, almost burned up Mother Earth until Zeus intervened.
