Divergent:
when two plates move apart. It could be oceanic to oceanic, oceanic to continental, or continental to continental. This causes earthquakes, and ocean basins, or and rift valleys.

Convergent:
When two plates collide. (same concept). This causes islands and volcanoes to form when the denser plate subducts under the other plate in the subduction zone. This can also cause mountain ranges to form when plates collide and buckle.

Transform:
When two plates slide past each other in the same direction at different speeds, or in different directions. (same concept) this causes earthquakes and faults.

Sorry this isn't as in depth as you wanted it to be! ^^

Varves are best developed...
Inessa05 [86]
Varves are best developed near glaciers because they represent light colored layers of coarser material deposited in the summer when the streams issuing from glaciers have more energy to erode coarser material compared to the fine silts and clay of the winter months when there is very little flow and very little erosion. They mostly occur in glacial lakes.

k0ka [10]
The Mongols set up a tribute empire called The Golden Horde. Serfdom arose as peasants gave up their lands to the aristocracy in exchange for protection from the Mongols. Moscow benefited financially by acting as a tribute collector for the Mongols. Mongol rule kept Russia culturally isolated from Western European trends such as the Renaissance.
